Our
Instructors
Our qualified instructors endeavour to progress all our clients to their full potential as well as making it a fun sport to be part of. Our
instructors attend regular training events to enhance their skills and provide our clients with the best service.
Sally Warwick
Sally took over the business several years ago from her parents
and now manages Long Lane Equestrian with help from her great team
of instructors and yard staff.
She
started riding as a toddler on her pony Champion and moved on to
her lovely mare Folly who was successful at Riding Club and Pony
Club events and show jumping.
Latterly she produced her own event horse Jester, who she
bought as a three year old and with whom she has been competing at
BE90 One Day Events for the last four years. During winter she
takes Johnny, a 15.2hh Welsh Section D hunting as it’s his
favourite hobby! She has recently bought a four year old Bay gelding, Archie to
bring on for eventing next year.
She has BHS Stage 3, Riding & Road Safety, Safeguarding
& Protecting Children and Equine Specific First Aid. In the
near future she intends to focus her training towards BE Coaching. |
Pam Wilson
Joined Long Lane Equestrian in 2007, having previously worked
at Leigh Equestrian Centre, Sherborne, 1994-1996.
Pam has BHS
Stage I & II, Riding and Road Safety Certificate, Preliminary
Teaching Test, Equine Specific First Aid Nov 2010 and
Safeguarding and Protecting Children Feb 2011. |
Kirsten Hendry
Kirsten
started riding at Long Lane just prior to her fifth
birthday and has a BSC in Equine Science from Hartpury University.
Currently competing on her young Bay Mare ,
"All that Malarky" aka "Mally", who she
produced herself having bought her as an unbroken four year old in December
2010. Currently competing at BE100 and have recently
completed their first Novice.. |
Ellysleigh Garbutt, (Ellys)
Ellys
is an honours degree student in Equine Sports Science Behaviour
and Welfare. She also has a National Diploma in Horse management
and is a PTT qualified insturctor.
She has worked in many aspects of the equine industry ranging
from riding schools to professional jump yards including that of
Michael Whitaker.
However she is happiest teaching and passing on her knowledge
and passion to others. |
Lucy Field-Richards
Lucy is a BHSAI with a first class honours degree - BSc Equine
Sports Science (Equestrian Psychology). She has 8 years experience
teaching people of all ages and abilities at riding schools and
coaching freelance clients; from nervous, novice riders to
competition riders.
Lucy has a patient and encouraging manner which gives
confidence to riders and horses alike. She is passionate about
helping clients reach their potential and get the best from their
horses.
Lucy competes at elementary dressage, British Eventing Novice
level and Newcomers BSJA.She is experienced in producing young
horses slowly and correctly and teaching them to enjoy their work
but equally comfortable teaching young children on hairy ponies to
adults on competitionhorses.

Rebecca Draper
Rebecca
joined Long Lane Equestrian in September 2013 after previously
working as Head Groom/ Part-time Pony Club Centre Instructor for
five years. She has worked in a variety of yards including a busy
high profile competition yard and as travelling groom for
individual riders to major competitions such as The Royal Windsor
Show and the British Dressage Regional and National Championships.
Rebecca is a BHS Registered Intermediate Stable Manager and
holds her BHS PTT Certificate. She is working towards completing
her UKCC Level 2 Coaching portfolio and BHS Stable Managers Exam.
She is trained in Equine Specific First Aid and Safeguarding and
Protecting Children.
Rebecca regularly attends CPD days organised by the British
Horse Society, Pony Club and British Dressage to keep up to date
with new teaching/ coaching practices and ideas.
Outside of work, Rebecca trains and competes in British
Dressage and regularly trains with the BD Northern Region. |
